description
Ruben specializes in realistic Black'n'Grey tattoos with high contrast and soft shadows.
-I always work with your ideas, but I do my take on it. If you insist on your own design, placement and size etc, getting a tattoo by me might not be a good idea.
-I only tattoo black and grey realism. Simply because I’m not good at the other stuff. We have many good artists in the shop that can make different styles. Check them out as well!
-I make the design on the day you get a tattoo or a few days prior. Not months in advance.
-I only work from good photo references,
-I work weekdays from 10 - 19.00
-Your tattoo can be used for promotion and my portofolio.
Picking the design?
i.e If you want a portrait of a lion, you’ll get a portrait of a lion, but i choose which one. Might seems harsh, right?
This is because I know what works out as a tattoo and what does not. That’s what I like to think at least lol. Things like your skintone, skintype, the contrast, shadows, balance, details and composition is important to think about when making a good tattoo. I do not expect my clients to know of this at get go, but you should expect this of your artist. Picking the perfect reference is what makes a good tattoo.
What is black and grey photorealism?
You have a really nice portrait of your sweet ol' Gramps that you want tattooed, but you want to add a hat on him and make him look slightly more to the side? Oh and change the lightsource while Im at it? Then you simply have to find a picture of him doing just that… I can NOT change photorealism, I simply copy the reference to your skin as best I can, thats my job description. I can pump the contrast and levels in Photoshop, but that’s it.
What do I expect of you?
Consultation, I will make the tattoo on you, bringing your family, boyfriend or mom to talk for you is a no-go. This tattoo is for you and I dont need everyones input on how it should look like.
While we’re at it, Do not bring an entourage to your sessions! The studio is small and we dont have room for more than one guest per client. Also, leave kids at home
Be prepared! Tattoos hurt, and big tattoos hurt more. Eat in advance and bring soda or candy to keep your sugar levels high.
The price. Tattoos are expensive, and a luxury, so save up! Normally I charge by the hour which is aboutv1200DKK. Normally a half-day session is about 5000, and a full-day is 9000.-.
Don’t stress, sometimes we can make a large piece, sometimes its smaller. What matters is the quality of the work being done. Dont ask how much or big we can tattoo. A full sleeve can take between 15 and 50 hours to make. I do not know exactly, since the designs often change in last minute.
Big projects, needs to be finished within a reasonable timetable. Making a large tattoo requires many sessions close together, this way the tattoo will have a much better look! I don’t want people to run around with half a backpiece for years before showing up again for the last session, meanwhile my technique, colors and style might have changed drastically, and the tattoo will look like theres been two different tattooers working.
Please trust me to do my job! You chose me as your artist, which I’m very grateful for. And surely you chose me because you want what I can offer, so please don’t micromanage and nitpick every little detail. Leave the job to me, I will make you something you’ll be happy with the rest of your life, and both of us will enjoy the process of making it!
